“Mind if I carry those for you?”
Startled, Jon turned to see Amber Levine standing next to him.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.” She said apologetically. Jon regained his senses and shook his head.
“No, it’s fine. I just wasn’t expecting anyone.” He paused as he took a couple of books out of his locker. “I’ve got a lot on my mind I guess.”
“I could tell. That’s why I came over, I wanted to see if you were alright.”
“How sweet.” Jon thought to himself and then he frowned. “Where did that thought come from?”
Jon was about to reply when Yukio came up to them.
“Hi, Jon.” She said sounding nervous. She looked at Jon and then Amber.
“You two know each other?” Amber asked slightly amused.
“Not really.” Jon replied. Not wanting Amber to think that he was crazy he told her that they had been assigned to work on a class project together.
“Oh, I see.” Amber replied nodding. “I guess I’ll see you later, good looking.” She winked at Jon who blushed in return.
“So Yukio? What’s up?”
