"You bought that?" Jon's mom asked. "Why?"
Jon looked over what he'd turned Karyn into. She had still been dressed as a boxer, and the sight of her outfit had inspired him to turn her into one of those inflatable punching bags. He walked over for a closer look. The front showed a painted on picture of a girl in a tank top and boxing shorts with gloves on. The back showed the same image, only from the back.
Jon gave Karyn a playful push. She rocked over sharply before standing back up again. The sound of shifting sand accompanied her movements. "I don't know, Mom," Jon answered. "I saw it in the store, and I just had to have it."
"Well," his Mom went on, obviously not to sure, "why don't you take it up to your room. It looks weird in the living room."
"Sure thing, Mom."
"Well, I've got to run," she nodded, rushing back out the door. "Have fun."
As the door closed, Jon turned back to the toy he'd made his friend. He could swear she was giving him the evil eye. "Oh, don't worry, Mom," he said. "Fun is definitely what's on tap for the rest of the day."
