"What's wrong?" asked a voice behind him. Jon turned and found himself/herself facing a girl he had seen at school. She was a year, maybe two years, younger than Jon. Her features were Asian, kind of cute. But she was a little on the heavy side, perhaps as much as 50 pounds heavier than she should be. She had on a grey sweatsuit and white sneakers.
"Something very bad has just happened," said Jon.
"I'm sorry. Can I do anything to help?"
"No, thanks."
"I'm Gwen Wong," said the girl. "What are you doing outhere on the campsite."
"I came to be alone with -- to be alone."
"It's good for that," said Gwen. "At least for now. My parents are turning it into a fat farm camp."
"Uh huh," said Jon.
Gwen was silent for a moment, trying to think of a way to bring this girl out of her funk. Finally, she decided to go with her own problem. "My parents are going to make me the first camper here. They say I'm so fat, there could be two of me."
"Uh huh," repeated Jon. Then, his/her eyes went wide and s/he cried "That's it!"
"What's it?" asked Gwen.
Jon said nothing, but pointed the remote at Gwen. Before she could say anything, Jon had spelled out K-A-R-Y-N. Gwen instantly morphed into Karyn.
"Jon?" she asked. "What happened? Where was I?"
"I'll explain later," said Jon. "Just stand there for a second."
"What are you going to do?" said Karyn suspiciously as Jon keyed T-W-I-N-S. Another Karyn appeared next to the first. Both were dressed alike, in sweatsuits (that were FAR too big for them) and sneakers. "What the hell? Where did she come from?"
"Like I said, I'll explain later. Right now, what's your name?"
"I'm Karyn -- no, Gwen. I'm Karyn Gwen," said the Karyn who had been Gwen.
"And what's your name?" Jon asked the new Karyn.
"I'm Karyn, too," the girl said. "Just Karyn."
"That's all I wanted to know. Can the two of you move further apart?"
Both girls shrugged their shoulders, and then side stepped away from each other, until they were about 12 feet apart. Jon pointed the remote at Karyn/Gwen, and pushed the ORIG key.
Karyn/Gwen was now just Gwen again. The other Karyn was still there. Jon heaved a BIG sigh of relief!
