"God," Gwen rubbed her belly. "I'm so hungry. I wish we had a last supper, before Gertrude catches up with us." Once again the stone granted her wish, and once again her memory changed ... slightly.
Joanne and Karyn, sitting across from Gwen at the picnic table, looked at each other with confused expressions. They heard Gwen's wish, and so did Gwen herself. So why did Gwen have new memories? She should have remembered how things were before her wishes. But she didn't. It was a mystery.
Joanne looked down at her plate, which was mostly cleaned off. Apparently, she had just gotten done eating a meal.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't Gwen and her stupid friends," a voice said from behind them.
Joanne and Karyn looked in that direction and were shocked to see Gertrude Baxter and Sarah McMillan standing there. And they were both fat. Sarah was the head cheerleader and Gertrude was her best friend. They were the most popular and sexiest girls at school. But now they were the opposite.
"Gertrude, just leave us alone," Gwen said.
