"Mmmmmmmm " I licked my lips at the thought of food. "Lead on " I said with a grin, watching Karyn walk down the hall. Was it me, or did she have a more feminine sway to her hips lately? My mind went back to last night when she hadn't had that robe on to block the view I shook my head. No need to go THERE again! I thought to myself. Still, the image persisted a bit
I grinned and continued to follow Karyn through the halls. She seemed to have some general idea where she was going. At least I hoped she did, because I certainly didn't! We passed so many doors and side passages I lost count. Several others had signs, but I was a bit too low to the ground to read them, and it would have been embarrassing to try to stand on my hind legs to look. Karyn kept giggling at a few of them though, and walked on. Her giggling was concerning me a bit.. but to be honest watching her walk kept distracting my thoughts, making me think of last night and some of my dreams
"Here we are, kitten!" Karyn said with a grin as we entered the kitchen. I blinked in surprise. The kitchen wasn't actually that big. Just a simple, well furnished square, with a stove, cabinets, and a table in the middle, as well as a few other doors It had to be the first relatively normal room in the house.
"It's pretty.. Normal looking." I said with a small grin. A little normality would be a pleasant change actually. "How did you know where this was in the house anyway?" I asked. "You went straight too it "
Karyn giggled. "This is the kind of homely little kitchen I always wanted.. Perfect to take care of little meals. And I thought of which part of the house I'd have wanted the kitchen in.. And here it is!" she grinned, obviously quite pleased. "I wonder what else is here ."
Karyn rummaged around a bit while I sniffed a bit, smelling lots of delicious odors. Some of them seemed to be coming from the adjoining rooms Karyn's gigging suddenly drew my attention.
"What? What did you find?" I asked as she chortled merrily, unable to talk.
"Heh heh.. Something funny. . don't think you'll like it though ." She said between spurts of laughter.
"Whhaatt?" I asked cautiously. Still giggling she held something up a.. A FOOD DISH! A really BIG food dish. With the name "Jon" written on it. I hmphed.
"I hope you don't expect me to eat out of THAT!" I said grumpily, sitting on my haunches with an annoyed look. This just made Karyn laugh harder.
"Well, it DOES have your name on it " She said with a giggle, but managed to choke back her laugher at the look I gave her. "Okay, okay.. No food bowl.." she said, amused. Then, in a lower voice I doubt she thought I could hear she murmured "For now " With a giggle. I just gave her a mildly annoyed look, but my tail was still swishing at the thought of all the food that was around.
"Oh, there's one other thing here.. come take a look at this " Karyn said, gesturing at the door. I walked over to take a look.
"A.. A doggie door?" I asked in surprise, blinking at the flap. Karyn nodded. "Well, more like a KITTY door at the moment, but I guess it's so you can get in and out without changing You want to try it out?" She asked with a grin.
I grinned. This was the first USEFUL item designed for me Id seen yet! "Sure!" I replied, slipping through the door. I had a bit of a need to make use of the facilities anyway, and I wasn't about to do it in front of Karyn!
I slipped out the door and looked around for a moment. It was actually quite beautiful out. The door opened to a small grass covered back yard, which quickly turned into a light forest. My ears perked up at the sounds of nature, and my nose sniffed, picking out the scents of trees and animals. Without quite realizing it I was diving the sights and sounds and smells into the different categories.. No threat, potentially dangerous things, and small edible creatures
I quickly shook my head to clear it off such thoughts, and went to the forest a bit to.. Take care of business. It was just on my way back when I heard Karyn calling from Inside.
"If you're finished marking your territory, Kitten, you might want to get in here." She called. "Breakfast is ready!"
I grinned and licked my lips at the thought of breakfast, and quickened my pace towards the door. I also made a mental note to have a little chat with Karyn. We really did need to discuss what was going on in a bit more detail
