I found myself nodding slowly to Karyn. "I knew it -- see, you do like this." She scratched my ears some more as I ducked my head in embarrasment and then finished toweling herself off. "Come on, kitty." I found myself following her out of the bathroom, this time not... quite not looking at her as much as I had before. I mean, if I was going to be in this position, I might as well enjoy it...
Karyn turned off all the lights and then climbed into the bed. It was a huge bed, too, the biggest I'd ever seen. In the dim light from the stars and distant city lights coming through the windows, I could just make out Karyn's body. She was much less distracting in the near dark. I was able to see her pat the bed beside her, so jumped up onto the bed, careful of my claws, and padded over the soft surface. "Good kitty," she murmured and immediately became distracting again as she started stroking my fur. In a few moments I was sprawled on my side among the pillows on the bed and purrring deeply. I was also glad it was dark and she couldn't see my physical reaction to being in this situation with her -- it wasn't like I was wearing any pants!
Eventually, though, she stretched out on the bed and rested her head on my furry side. "Mmm. Very comfy," she murmured. I licked her nearest ear and she giggled. "Silly cat... go to sleep." After a yawn, she quieted down and soon was asleep by the sound of her breathing.
I had many odd dreams that night! It had been a busy and exciting day, of course. I dreamt about being a horse again and Karyn riding me around town -- parking me in a parking garage that some how became a stable where there was an endless supply of nice crunchy apples and carrots. I also had dreams about Karyn being naked and riding on my bare back, or walking me around at the end of a leash. Some of those were very disturbing, but ... very distracting! At one point I dreamt I was a husky or some similar canine -- I don't know why, it just seemed very real though. It woke me up briefly during the night. I was still a cougar, but I thought I could smell a faint dog scent. If in my dreams if I wanted to be something, would I become it? That could be dangerous! Karyn snuggled up against me and murmured, "Kitty." in her sleep. If Karyn dreamed of me not wanting to be something, did that affect me too? My tail flicked restlessly.
Sleeping with Karyn might have been a good decision, whether she treated me like a pet or not! She might be helping me to not accidently change in my sleep by not wanting to lose her feline pillow. That was a disturbing thought. It took me a while to get back to sleep after that.
Waking up to having your belly scritched is very nice. Waking up to a faint giggling because you woke up rather plainly excited by the last dream you had of your attractive best friend naked is not. "Karyn!" I protested weakly and tried to roll over on my belly. At least the bed was not as uncomfortable as the bathroom floor. Karyn was now dressed, mostly, in the bathrobe we had found the night before.
"What is it? Nothing to be ashamed off -- just a normal male reaction." Karyn smirked at me and stood up from the bed. "Come on. I better let you outside for a bit unless we find a litter box along the way to the kitchen. I'm starving and I bet you are, too. Let's go see what this place has for breakfast for a cougar! Unless you want to become a horse again and graze?" She grinned.
"Well, not really!" I jumped down from the bed and padded after her. Of course I could have just gone into the bathroom, shut the door, changed back for a bit and taken care of matters, but... I just seemed to be in the habit of following Karyn around now. Besides, it was her bathroom, not mine!
The morning sun was shining through the various windows as we walked all the way down to the first floor again. With the better light it was easy to see how huge the inside of the place was! There were so many doors and even side halls -- just what had that wish done?
"Hey, I didn't notice this sign last night." Karyn pointed to a sign on the wall on the first floor hall. It was set for human height which is probably why I had missed it. It read "" Karyn grinned and almost bounced on her feet. "I think I get it now -- part of the house must be an animal clinic! I've always wanted to be an animal doctor, and this would give me everything I needed to take care of you as whatever animal. We'll definitely look around more after breakfast. I wonder if there are facilities here for taking care of race horses -- that can make a lot of money!" Karyn seemed very happy and excited by all this, and I could understand why -- it was like having a dream come true for her! But... what about me?! "Come on, kitty! I bet there is something good for you in the kitchen."
