"After I get you ready." Karyn got the bit and bridle settled on me and then led me out of the stall. "You're such a well behaved horse, Jon," she murmured and patted my neck. Past a couple more empty stalls there was a small equipment and office space. "Here we go." Karyn picked up a riding helmet and put it on. "Wouldn't want to have an accident. Mmm. Speaking of accidents..." Karyn pulled out the box with the wishing stone.

"What are you going to do?" I asked, a bit nervously.

"Shh. Putting this in a safe place so I don't accidently make a wish." Karyn kneeled down by the office desk. She fiddled with something I could not see, and I realized that it was literally a safe place she was putting it. The door to a small but firmly bolted to the ground, solid-looking office safe swung into view. "I mean, you wouldn't want me to accidently make you stuck like this, would you?"

"Uh, well, no, but..." I chomped on my bit nervously.

"It'll be safe in the safe." Karyn giggled and shut the door, then spun the dial of the combination lock. "Come on, let's go for that ride you promised me." After standing up, she took the reins again and started leading me outside.

I realized I didn't know the combination to the safe. "Um, Karyn, don't you think you're forgetting something? I mean..."

"Oh, you're right!" Karyn stopped when we were outside. "I'll be right back." She dashed back inside and came out carrying a riding crop. "This is just perfect! I'm having so much fun!" she said and swung up on to the saddle on my back. "Let's go see what riding trails are here! I mean, if the place has everything else, it's got to have some place to ride you, too!"

I was starting to have very serious misgivings about this entire day, but before I could say anything else, she spurred me on, and like a horse, I started trotting forward...
