I was rather embarrassed about the whole thing, but Karyn was taking it all in stride, so I just tried to forget about it for the moment.
"So, ready for your ride, big fella?" She asked after she finished cleaning up. Oddly enough, she seemed to enjoy even that in some ways. Just like having a real horse.
"Um. . I guess so " I said, a bit hesitantly. "Just go easy on me, okay?" I grinned as best I could with my equine muzzle. "Not really used to being a horse.." I said, hoping to gently remind her that I WASN'T really a horse. At least not normally.
"Well, don't worry. You seem to be doing fine." She said with a giggle and a mischievous grin, ignoring the hint. I was about to reply, but she held out a carrot for me, and I reflexively reached out and wrapped my lips around it.
"That's a good horsie " Karyn said, still giggling a bit as she stoked my muzzle while I chomped on the carrot. I lowered my ears a bit, a tad annoyed or falling for that trick, but I couldn't stay annoyed too long as she rubbed, especially when she pulled another carrot from her pocket.
"You just take it easy, and I'll set everything up." Karyn said, tossing a bit more apples and oats into the trough. I found myself chomping away, my tail swishing, until she returned with my saddle and tack and the rest of my gear.
"Wouldn't it have been easier to wish that back on?" I pulled myself away from the able slices long enough to ask "Not that I think we should use it carelessly or anything " I quickly added.
"Well, it WOULD be faster " She said with a grin, cinching up the saddle. "But it just wouldn't be as FUN!" She giggled and grinned as she arranged everything. "Now open wide " She ordered as she removed the halter and started to put on my bridle.
