Karyn took the stone out again. "I wish that there was a house and stable nearby with everything I will need to take care of Jon." There was the brief ripple effect of reality changing again and she put the stone away. "There. That should have some grain and hay for you to eat while I rub you down." She grinned and spurred me on. "Now, we just have to find it."

Grumbling, I started trotting again. It did not take us too long before we found a dirt road connecting to the nearby highway. Following the dirt road we came upon a small stable and a rather large, old style house.

"Oh, wow!" Karyn exclaimed, looking at the house. "That's almost a mansion. I didn't mean for something like this."

"Are you sure this is the place you wished for?" I asked around the bit. "This could be someone else's."

Karin shook her head and pointed to the mailbox. "That's got my last name on it. Come on!" She dismounted and guided me over to the stables by the reins.

I glanced back at the house uneasily. It was really a large house, almost something you would see from a movie. Once inside the stables, Karyn lead me to a cleaning area and replaced the bridle around my head with a halter that was conviently on a nearby hook.

Karyn hugged my neck suddenly. "Thanks for being so good about this, Jon! I've always wanted to be able to have a horse, even just for a little bit," she said wistfully. "Just a little longer, please?" She then removed the saddle and carried it off.

How could I refuse her? I sighed and resigned myself to being a horse for a little while longer, even if it meant I had to eat hay.

A few minutes later Karyn came back with a puzzled expression as well as a box of brushes and other tools I guessed were for taking care of a horse. "Well, I found the tack room, but there were some... weird things in there. There's even a garage on the other end of the stables with a full machine shop it looks like! I wonder why all that's there." She took out a curry comb and start brushing my sides. "There was a feed room, but it also had a big walk-in freezer! I've never seen that in a stable before."

I blinked. "That's weird, all right." The combing and brushing felt pretty darned nice. "Wait a minute, you wished for a stable and house with everything you will need to take care of me," I said, feeling faintly alarmed.

"Shhh, down boy," Karyn murmured, then paused. "You're right. Why would I need a machine shop? Or ... well, some of the other things I found?" She blushed and giggled nervously.

I flicked my tail. "Well, maybe the machine shop is for when I'll need the oil changed in my car, and I can come here and have you do it."

Karyn paused. "Maybe one day you become a car and I need to change your oil."

I felt my ears flop to the sides. "I... that's possible, I guess." I started feeling nervous. "But weird! I wonder what's all in the house? It's huge."

"I don't know." Karyn looked uneasy. "Maybe I screwed up with this wish."
