I looked around a bit, having a chance to take in my surroundings a bit better now that we'd stopped. We were on the very edge of town it seemed, with nothing but hilly grassland and a few groves or trees in the distance. To the right the black ribbon of highway stretched out across the hills into the distance.
"What are we doing here?" I asked curiously, still looking around. I stomped my foot on the ground once or twice. After running across pavement and concrete for so long, it felt rather nice to have soft grass beneath my hooves.
"Oh, I just thought it might be nice to ride around someplace a bit more natural, don't you think? Jon? Jon, stop that! You'll get a stomach ache." Karyn said with a laugh.
I blinked and lifted my head up, suddenly realizing what I had been doing. I had leaned over to sniff the grass, and had instead started munching on it.
"Well.. Give me a break!" I replied sheepishly. "I haven't had anything to eat since this morning, and all this running has made me hungry!"
