"I wish that my special abilities were not public knowledge and I could use them without people knowing it was me," Anne said, holding the stone. I hope this works! she thought. She thought she felt something happen -- something about the room around her changed. She took a deep breath, then paused and looked at herself.
"What the ...?" Anne had not been particularly out of shape before or particularly unattractive, but now she looked to be in very good shape indeed -- she could feel the muscles flexing under her skin, and yet her breasts were larger and the curve of waist and hip more pronounced. "Oh no... just what happened this time?" Anne nervously pressed the intercom buttong, and when the admin assistance answered, Anne asked, "How are things going?"
"Everything is quiet, ma'am. Just a few patrons wandering the grounds."
Anne sighed in relief. "Thanks." She turned the intercom off and sat looking at herself for a moment. Just what had the wish done? After thinking a moment, she opened up the drawers of the desk and started looking for paperwork. In one folder she found a newspaper clipping dated from nearly six months ago.
"Oh my God!" Anne's eyes widened as she read it. "This has to be a joke, right?" She trembled.
The article described how a new super-hero team had been spotted in town. One of them referred was called by the nickname Circe, and had demonstrated the power to change people into animals and back again. The photo in the article showed a female figure attired in a rather revealing outfit with a full face mask standing with a group of other costumed people.
Anne sat back heavily in her chair, just staring at the article. Very slowly she put the stone down on a stack of papers, as if it was just a paperweight. "Now what am I supposed to do?" she moaned quietly to herself.
