“Jenny will stop by soon to take care of you. "You be a good, dog, Rob!”
“I'm always a good dog” Rob laughed, still on all fours, his face now a bit smudged with dog food from his bowl.
“Woof Woof!” said Lucy following his mom out the door and getting into the car.
He curled up on the kitchen floor, spent a few minutes licking himself, then dozed off. Before long, a pretty, blond girl in a green and white track suit came by and let herself in. She appeared to be college aged.
“Hey, Rob!” she called. “C'mere, boy! Heee-eerre, Rob!” Rob's ears perked up and he found himself running along on all fours, greeting Jenny with a slobbery kiss, as he stood up on his back legs and licked at her cheeks. “Easy!” she laughed. “Down, boy. Down!”
“Sorry, Jenny!” said Rob. “I'm just always so excited to see you. What're we gonna do today? Can we go to the park and play fetch? Please, please, please, please? I'd love to chase that frisbee again!”
“Sorry, boy,” she replied. “The forecast calls for rain. I think we'd better stay indoors today. Maybe we can find something around here to play with?” She started to rummage around the couch, looking for dog toys.
