The two hours spent in the cage crawled by slowly. Sometimes I paced and growled a little, but was unable to do anything about my situation. Fortunately nothing bad happened before the time was up and I found myself suddenly back where I was when Karyn made the wish -- now I could talk again, and change back to normal! The earlier wishes still worked, thankfully, and the collar I had been wearing changed back to my clothing as I became human again. Karyn was no where to be found, but I guessed she had gone on to school, so I went there.
It took me a little bit to find her, but I finally did as classes changed. "Karyn!"
Karyn looked up and grinned. "Jon! How was your time off from class?" she asked, waving.
I shuddered. "Just give me my stone back. I don't want to talk about it."
Karyn giggled and fished out the stone. "Why? What was so bad about lounging around in the sun? Tell me!"
"I wasn't in the sun -- I was stuck in a cage. Your wish ended up putting me in the zoo's leopard breeding program!"
Karyn blinked, then blushed and giggled. "Oh! Well, I still don't see why you're so upset about that -- was she nice to you?" she asked innocently.
I growled and made a grab for the stone, but Karyn danced back a bit. The kids around us just ignore the commotion. "Nothing happened, thankfully -- the only free slot in the program when you made the wish was for a female leopard!"
"Oh! Oh my! You were going to be the mother?" Karyn had to stop backing away as she started giggling harder. "I wish I could have seen that!"
I gasped. "Karyn, you're holding the --"
