I blinked at Karyn's wish And suddenly found myself in a large metal cage. I gasped in surprise. I didn't think she'd actually DO that Maybe teasing her HADN'T been such a good idea. Oh well. At least it was only for two hours. Not a very pleasant two hours if I was going to be stuck here the entire time, but there wasn't much I could do about THAT
I pent a few moments trying to say my name, but all I could manage was a growling sound. Giving up on that, I shrugged and stretched out on the bottom of the cage to relax and wait for my time to finish. I was just starting to relax when I saw a man and a woman dressed as zoo handlers walk in front of the cage.
"So, this is the new entrée into the program?" the woman asked. The man nodded in reply.
"Yep. I'm really glad we managed to get that slot filled. " the man responded, checking something off on his clip board
"Me too. We were in desperate need for another female for the breeding program down here "
I blinked in surprise at what I heard. Female? Breeding program?? I looked back at myself, making a quick inventory. I wasn't exactly sure what a male leopard looked like up close, but assuming it worked the same way as males of every other species, I was DEFINITELY missing some equipment!
"Well, hopefully things will work out this time. We really need more leopard cubs for the release program." The man said.
"Yeah. Let's just hope the love birds hit it off this time." The woman chuckled, the two of them walking away.
"No way! Let me out of here!" I tried to say, moving by the bars. But all that came out was a growl.
I suddenly thought back to Karyn's wish. Of course! She'd wished that I'd spend the next two hours as a normal leopard, filling a SLOT in the zoo! But she never specified a GENDER, and the only open slots were for FEMALES!
I growled and paced the cage a bit, trying to think of a way out of this. I couldn't talk to anyone, and there was no way to let Karyn know what was going on Eventually I just sighed and lay back down again, growling. I'd just have to wait and hope my two hours were up REAL soon. I wished there was a clock in sight.
