I opened the door to my room, fearing the worst, and looked inside.

The room was not covered in pink lace curtains, or filled with cutesy stuffed animals. It was changed a lot from what it had been, but not too badly. My astronomy/sky chart was still on the wall, but just a different wall, and it had been joined by a poster of the phases of the moon. The walls themselves were a more neutral tan color than the light blue I remembered them being. The poster of my favorite rock band was still hanging... except that the lead female singer now appeared to be a were-vixen! My CD collection seemed to be a little different, but I couldn't put my finger on the changes. My desk was its usual mess.

A couple of items were definitely new, though! On the corner of my dresser was a nail file, a much heavier nail file, and standing beside the dresser looked to be a giant scratching post! There was a small collection of scented candles sitting by my alarm clock, too -- with my morphic leopardess nose I could catch the faint residue of their scent overtop all the others in the room. I guess some sort of air freshener was nice when you had a more sensitive nose.

"Well," I said finally after Karyn stepped in and I closed the door. "This isn't so bad."

"It's still pretty much you." Karyn peeked into my bathroom and then chuckled. "Looks like you're very regular!"

"What do you mean?" I joined her and looked around. The bathroom was also tan now. Oddly, my wall calendar was in here. Karyn grinned at me and pointed to it. The calendar had the phases of the moon marked on the days. It was two days until the full moon, and on a couple days after that there was a note in my handwriting, "Buy more!" An arrow pointed down, and under the calendar was an empty box of...

I blanched. "Oh, geeze! You mean I have a period?"

Karyn snickered. "I guess you weren't listening too much to the nurse, were you? At least yours seems to be linked to the lunar month." She seemed to be having a hard time not bursting into giggles.

I lashed my tail and growled. "I don't plan on being like this when the time comes!"

Karyn tried to become serious again. "Well, Jonni, what do you want to wish for then?" She bit her lip. "I mean, you can't just undo a previous wish. And just look at all this!" She waved a hand at the room, the house. "That one little wish slid out and changed everything! It seems to be getting worse with each one."

"I know, I know!" I stomped back into my bedroom. "I'll just have to think of something really careful." I headed for my closet. "Hopefully I still have some jeans," I muttered. This skirt was not really what I wanted to wear. As expected, my entire wardrobe was... different. My underwear especially so. What was faintly disturbing was the collection of chokers hanging on the wall... and a couple collars?

"I guess those are in case you become a leopard all the way," Karyn said thoughtfully.

I rolled my eyes. "Great. What next?"

Karyn said innocently, "The date with Mark tonight?"

"Karrrrryn!" I exclaimed, exhasperated.
