Feeling like a kid again

Nick remembered this place. It was cramped but filled with his dad's toys : Camera's, Electrical gadgets that he would work on just to see how they worked.
The place was a mess but it made Nick smile. He had fond memories of this place and his dad, of cereal with powdered milk as all three meals.
Nick was invited to sit down and did so. Nick's dad ran into the bathroom and came back with iodine and band-aids.
Nick forgot who he was for a moment and saw his dad doctoring his hairless ten year old knees. He didn't even react when his dad kissed his knee.
"That will take the sting out" Nick's dad flirted.
Nick felt like it was just his dad playing with him.
Nick's dad suggested taking Nick out for a drink to thank her for saving him.
Nick thought it would be cool to have a drink with his dad.
"Cool. Let's go."
Nick's dad was a little surprised at how easy this was working and led her out....
