"Kare..." Jon begins, as the pair meander down the street back to their houses. "I'm glad you made me go. I had a lot of fun watching that old movie."
"Oh?~" Karen teased. "Because I thought you had a lot of fun flirting with Josh."
"W-what!?" Jon stops in her tracks. "Nu-uh, no way. Like, where did you even get that idea?"
"For real?" She flashes Jon a smile, and takes on a ditzy breathy voice. "Oh my god Josh, that was so funny~! Tell me more about the differences in Star Trek captains Joshua~! Did you really... Oof!"
Karen is interrupted when Jon playfully pushes her off the sidewalk. "I did not sound like that!" She declares with a blush and a grin plastered across her face. Karen just shrugs, so Jon tries to reinforce her point. "I totally, was not, in any way flirting with Joshua!" She dramatically crosses her arms.
Karen just shrugs. "Ok, yeah, sure you weren't flirting." She laughs, and Jon laughs in response.
"I mean it!" Jon declares. "You're so mean. I only found out I'm stuck like this a few hours ago. You shouldn't tease me like that." Her voice loses some of its mirth.
"I know..." Karen apologized. "But I'm glad you introduced me. I think we'll all be good friends."
"Just friends." Jon reaffirms.
Karen laughs.
The pair walk in silence for a moment longer.
"You know," Jon begins. "I'm still me..." Karen looks to Jon both puzzled and concerned. "I mean... That's what I found out tonight." She stuffs her hands in her pockets, only to remember they're too small for that, and crosses her arms instead. "I mean... I'm not Allison. Not really. Maybe I have this body, and like, some of her habits, but I still like all the same stuff. I still enjoy the same games, and movies, and hobbies..." She smirks. "I'm still a total dork!" She proclaims confidently.
"My favorite dork." Karen chuckles before wrapping an arm around her friend.
"I'm not Allison." She states again. "And maybe... Maybe if I'm stuck living as Allison, I should make this life a little more like what I want."
Karen raises an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"Like, I totally need to get rid of this pink phone case!" She laughs as she pulls her phone from her pocket. "I mean, why keep it?"
"To protect your phone?" Karen quipped.
"You know what I mean! I don't have to keep this stuff! It's like, I've been so afraid of touching anything or changing anything because it felt like someone else's life. But if it's mine, why should I put up with it?" She grabs a tuft of her hair and mock growls. "Why do I keep this annoying mop on my head?" She jiggles her butt. "Why do I keep these panties that wedge in my ass?! It's stupid! This is my life. And I haven't changed, even if my body has, so I should live the life I want."
Karen gives Jon a warm smile. "I think that's a good idea." Her words are punctuated with a soft sigh. "A really good idea..."
