"Hey, careful Roger." Karyn said with a chuckle as she watched the 40 something man, who was dressed like a Goth, glare at her.
"Whatever" Roger said rolling his eyes as he grabbed his school bag and stomped out of the house.
Karyn shook her head, thankful that her parents were well behaved.
Straightening her tie Karyn left Jon's house and got in her car and drove to her office.
Along the way she tried to figure out what Jon's wish might have been. She didn't find anything wrong with young child who was reading out the news on the radio, nor with the young boy who handed her her coffee (with a flirtatious wink) at Starbucks.
Sighing Karyn figured that she might as well focus on her work before she tried to work out the wish as she pulled in to the parking lot.
"Morning Amanda." Karyn said as she greeted the security guard on duty that morning not finding anything wrong with the fact that the girl was a lot younger than Karyn or the fact that Amanda had a shaved head.
"Morning Karyn." Amanda replied, nodding in her direction. "How are the parents?"
"Oh you know how they are." Karyn replied sighing a little. Being a single child to two parents could be very tiring at times. Amanda nodded again.
"I feel you." She said. "I've just got my mom but girl can she be a handful."
Karyn nodded before she said goodbye and headed up to her office.
As the elevator opened to let Karyn off she smiled. Always on schedule, pouring the first pot of coffee for the day, was Robbie. Robbie was one of the few male employees on Karyn's floor and one of the reasons that Karyn enjoyed working here.
He always managed to wear sexy but practical business attire and today was no exception. Today a wore a black form fitting pencil skirt with a silk black blouse. His blonde hair fell in locks past his shoulders and his makeup was impeccable as always.
Karyn smiled again as she made her way over to him.
"Hey Robbie."
Robbie, always in a cheerful (and sometimes flirtatious mood), smiled as he turned towards Karyn.
"Karyn! How are you? How are the kids?"
That was Robbie, he always wanted to know how Karyn was and how things were at home. So Karyn launched into a story about what happened last night. All the while Robbie listened intently, laughing at Karyn's jokes and occasionally touching her on the arm.
