Jon laid face down and sprawled out on the bed, while Karen sat by her head, rubbing her back. It was a small gesture, but she didn't want Jon to feel alone... not now. She hadn't expected the computer to work. Still, she had some minor hope, and now that was dashed. A heaviness had fallen upon them both. When Jon finally accepted that the computer didn't have the file she was looking for, Karen had hugged her friend. But while her embrace was warm, her thoughts were cold. They were going to have to settle into this life for the long haul. She subconsciously ran her fingers through her blonde locks twisting them around a finger... Well, Jon would have to settle into this life for the long haul. Blonde hair, and a bigger bust may be inconvenient, but they weren't life changing.

Jon sat up, and Karen turned her eyes to her friend scooted next to her. "How are you feeling?"

Jon wiped her eyes and threw her hands up. "I don't know. I just don't get it. The computer should work!" She growled with frustration.

Karen's face scrunched up. Denial wasn't a good start. "Jon. It didn't work though."

"I know!" Jon snapped. "I know..." she said with more melancholy. "This was just supposed to be a bit of fun... And then it was one day... and then two!" Jon grabs her head in frustration. "And now we can't find the stone, and I can't change back!"

Karen wraps her arms around Jon. "I know... I'm sorry...But maybe... Maybe it would help if we start thinking about things to help you get comfortable in this life?"

Jon leans into her friends embraces. "Like what?"

"Well..." Karen chuckles. "I can't imagine you like a pink phone case." She snatches "Allison's" phone from her desk. "Or purple walls?" She continues. "I could help you make your life feel more like home."

"That'd be nice" Jon smiles softly. "You're a good friend Kare..."

Before the pair say anything else, Allison's phone buzzes. The pair look down at it and read the text.

"Hey! It's Joshua. It says. 'Do you still want to come over today?'"

"Who's Joshua?" Karen asks.

Jon sits up. "Oh! Yeah. He's pretty cool. I met him Monday in Study hall. We actually have a lot in common, I think you'd like him." Her voice is still low, but a little more optimistic as she speaks.

"Well, do you want to visit him?"

Jon pauses, then nods her head. "Yeah. I think I do." She snatches up the phone, and responds. "You can come too of course!" The two friends smile, and make their way out the door.
