Karyn gave Jon a funny look.
"What the heck did you do with your hair? It looks pretty funky."
"What do you mean?" Jon was puzzled. He hadn't touched his hair.
"I never pictured you as blonde is all I'm saying."
Jon looked into his reflection in the store window. His hair was different! It looked almost like Karyn's...
"The rock!!! Someone must have the rock!!!"
Karyn looked puzzled for a second. "You mean...Oh!"
Jon grabbed her hand, "We gotta get to my house now!"
Jon and Karyn ran for the parking lot.
At home Jon's Mom continued looking around his room. She saw a picture of the family he had on the dresser. It was up at the cabin they used to go to near Port Hope every summer. Jon and his Dad would go fishing and she would sit on the beach and watch the boat. It was a great time and Jon would talk and talk; not like nowadays.
I guess teenagers are just like that, she thought. I wish Jon was still 10 years old so would could have those times again....
