They thought about it for about ten minutes. Then someone spoke up, wanting to use the stone. It was Zoe. "How would you feel about having your shirt change color? I don't think you want to walk around with a white T-shirt."
"That would be okay. What color? Wait, let me guess. Black."
"Yeah, black. You don't mind, do you?"
"Well, I don't like wearing that color, but I don't see any harm. Just make sure that it's still a T-shirt and not something else."
"Okay. I wish the Jon likes to wear black T-shirts."
"Wait, that's not what I said," Jon spurted out. The stone glowed and Jon's T-shirt changed from white to black, otherwise it was the same T-shirt.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"You wished that I would like wearing black T-shirts. You were supposed to just change the color of the one I'm wearing."
"Oh, sorry. Maybe I can change that."
"You can't take back wishes, Zoe. But it doesn't matter, anyway. Thanks to your wish, I do like wearing black T-shirts. Suddenly I feel very comfortable wearing them."
"Do you want to wear more gothic things?" asked Karyn, hoping Jon would say yes.
"No way. I told you that I don't want that. Can't I wear a black shirt and not be a Goth?"
"I suppose," Karyn said, disappointedly.
Jon still couldn't get over the fact that Karyn was really a Goth. I mean, he could clearly see that she was dressed like one, but her personality seemed skewed compared to what she was like before.
He looked from one girl to the next. Zoe, Karyn, Athena & Zelda (the last two, Zoe's friends). He really didn't belong here. It was quite clear now. Oh, he could wear black T-shirts and such, but he would never fit in. It was like he was in another country. Or on another planet, which wasn't totally far from the truth: the world was a different place now.
How was he going to cope with this new twisted world?
