They snuck into the house, hoping to avoid Zoe's mom. But it looked like they didn't need to, she wasn't in the living room anymore.
Jon led the way into what he thought was his bedroom, but wasn't now. "What's this room?" he asked as he walked inside.
Zoe was still down the hall, so she hadn't seen what Jon was looking at. "Mom was gonna use it for the new baby that was coming. It was gonna be his nursery. Why?" She walked into the room. "Oh."
There were books lining the walls. Jon would describe them as "gothic"-type books. Things about Wicca, witch craft, tarot cards, the whole lot.
Zoe walked over to one of the shelves and pulled out a book. On the inside cover, a name was written as to who it belonged to. It was her mom. She checked five others. All were also owned by her mom.
"Zoe, it looks like you've got a room now put all your stuff," Jon said.
"It's not my stuff."
"What do you mean?"
"This is all Mom's stuff."
"What?!"
"She's a Goth now. Remember?"
Jon had forgotten that. He still remembered how she was before. He wasn't sure that he really wanted to meet the new version of her.
"Sorry to break you away from your private library," Athena said. "But shouldn't we do something about Jon?"
"Right." She held out the stone, ready to make a wish, when Jon stopped her.
"Hold on. Let's think about this, first. I don't want any of you to make rash wishes. Maybe I shouldn't really exist in this world, but I am a real person. So, think about that, first."
