Shocked, Karyn walked into the room and saw Jon dressed in girl's clothing: a tight white baby tee and tight capri pants.
"Jon! What are you doing?" asked the confused Karyn. "Did you accidentally use the rock on yourself?"
"What rock?"
"The wishing rock. The rock you got from your grandfather."
"Karyn, I don't know about any rock. I came back here and saw what I was wearing. I didn't know how I could wear something like this. So, I went to my closet to change and, well, look." He pointed at his open closet.
Karyn walked over to where he was standing and looked at his closet. There was nothing but girl's clothes in his closet. Tight baby tees, like the one he was wearing, tank tops, halter tops, skirts, mini-skirts, even dresses. She saw an arrangement of high-heel shoes along the bottom the closet. She couldn't believe it. Why would Jon wish all this?
"It gets worse, Karyn." He went over to his dresser and opened one of the drawers. "See?"
She walked to the dresser. It was worse. The drawer was filled with bras and panties, all frilly and girly.
"I think someone is playing a joke on me. Someone took all my clothes and replaced them with all of this. But who would do that?"
"Jon, it's got to be the rock." Then it occured to her that maybe someone else wished all this on Jon and then erased his memory of it. "Jon, before you got home, did you meet with anyone?"
"Well, I did run into Sarah, after you went home."
"Sarah! So, she's the one."
"Karyn, what are you talking about? You mean, Sarah did all this to me? How?"
"With the wishing rock. Ugh. How am I supposed to make you remember?" Then she thought of the letter that Jon's grandfather wrote, but she didn't know where Jon would have put it. "Um, Jon? Where do you put stuff that you don't want other people to see?"
"Why, Karyn?"
"This may sound like a strange request, but show me."
Jon hesitantly went to get the box he hid behind his bed. He put a bunch of things in there that he didn't want others, mostly his mom and sister, to see. You know, like dirty magazines and stuff. But, this time, when he opened it, there was something in it that he had not remembered putting in: a letter, handwritten, and was from his grandfather. He got it out and read it.
"This wishing rock is real?"
"Yeah, Jon. It is. And from what you told me, it sounds as if Sarah has it."
"What do we do?"
"We go get it. Come on, Jon. We can't waste any time on this. Who knows what someone like Sarah could be wishing up?" Karyn turned to leave, but Jon wouldn't follow. "Jon, what is it?"
"I can't go out like this. I know its the least girly clothing I have, but it's still girl's clothing."
"Then, we'll make it quick. Anyway, once we get the rock back, we can just change everyone's memories so that they'd think that they never saw you like this."
"I suppose you're right." And with that, they both left his bedroom and ran downstairs.
