She spent a minute just looking at the rock, wondering where it came from. How could something like this actually exist?
Sarah knew that Jon more or less despised her. Oh, sure, Jon thought Sarah was hot, like any of the other guys at school. She'd seen the way he looked at her, and she knew how to tease him with her body and her skimpy outfits.
Sarah knew why Jon hated her. She knew why all of the kids hated her. She was the object of everyone's desires. They wanted to be like her, not knowing the sacrifice it was to be pretty and popular.
He entered the bedroom and saw her standing there with the stone. He looked...scared. "Sarah...what are you doing with that?"
"I know what it is, and I think it is better off with me than with you," she said.
"You don't know what it is, what it can do. Be careful," Jon urged her.
"I'm not an idiot!" She said. "I know exactly what it can do."
Jon just didn't understand her. Didn't understand what things were like for her. There was so much expected of her. Sure, she got whatever she wanted, but it wasn't always easy being queen bee, never knowing whether people were her friends or just close to her because she was popular. Never knowing if boys wanted her, or just wanted to have sex with her.
"Sarah...wishes you make with that can't be reversed..."
She smiled wickedly at him. "Well, that is useful to know," she said, staying a small distance from him. "I wish...that until I wish otherwise..."
