The clock radio was blaring. But it was what was coming out of it that was even more alarming. Jon normally set his radio to the local rock station, but now all he heard was some lame bubble-gum pop.
He reached out to turn it off and was greeted by another surprise. His alarm clock was usually small and flat, and this one was definitely bigger, and round on top. This made him wake up even more so he could look around. And when his senses finally came to him, he knew what was wrong.
This was not his room. The walls were the wrong color. The bed was totally different. All of the furniture was different. And was that a pair of tights hanging over the desk chair that certainly didn't belong to him? He looked around more. A bookshelf with a teddy bear on it. A makeup table. Strange looking shoes on the floor. This was some girl's room.
But it was his. The door and window were in the same place. He checked out the window, and noticed that the view was exactly the same... so this was his room. And when Jon got out of bed, he finally noticed what he was wearing. When he went to bed, he normally wore just boxers. But he had awakened wearing short white cotton shorts and a tiny pink t-shirt.
"What the hell?" Jon said aloud. Then he heard his mother's voice.
"Are you up, Sarah?" she said as she opened the door. "Oh, good. You better hurry and eat breakfast. And don't spend all morning choosing an outfit again, I'm sure anything you pick out will be just fine."
Didn't she see what was wrong? Jon had to try and talk some sense into her. Somebody was obviously playing some weird prank.
"Mom, I... wait... did you just call me Sarah!?"
