It was clear what our job was. We needed to keep Robbie in the fight. Both of them were on the same level. This meant they were putting on a really shitty match. None of them were doing any cool moves. They were barely doing anything you would consider wrestling. Just punching, kicking and throwing each other around was really boring. Suzie and I had decent charisma stats so our taunts kept people moderately entertained. Even on the jobber tier of wrestling, Barry was a step above Robbie in terms of skill. Barry hit a signature move. It was a headbutt. Robbie was down for the count. Suzie and I were on opposite ends of the ring to keep the pressure on Barry during the match. Suzie got on the ring apron and shouted at the referee to get his attention. This prevented Barry from getting the cover. From the other side, I entered the ring and attacked Barry from behind. I easily tossed him against the ropes and did my finisher. By the time the ref turned around, I was already out of the ring. He had no clue what happened. Barry was a jobber. You could count to 5,000. He was done.

Very clearly, things were at a stand still. They had nothing left. The ref had no choice but to count them out. If he got to 10, it would be a no contest. While it would count as a draw on both their records, Robbie needed the win to not get fired. When the ref counted to 8, Robbie crawled to his feet. He stumbled over on shaky legs and got the cover. It was a 2.99 count when Barry kicked out. That got bit of a pop from the crowd in the arena. Robbie looked like he could burst into tears. Things got a bit silly as they got back to the old song of punching kicking and throwing. It was on the third time that Barry threw Robbie into the ropes that he was able to do a rare reverse. It set him up for his own signature move. It was a roundhouse kick to the head that sent them both to the mat. Robbie was totally out of stamina. He crawled over to Barry and covered the blond with a single arm. That was enough for the win. He had actually done it! He was the #1 contender for any championship he wanted. Suzie and I lifted him up to celebrate. He was really out of it. That did not matter. He was at 1-19.
We brought him backstage on my back. After fanning him and offering him some juice and chicken, he was able to return to full form. EWL was a big company. There are a dozen championships. On Battlefield, there were 6 up for grabs. Robbie had a lot to choose from now. We had the Brawlicia Heavyweight title, the Intercontinental title, the EWL Tag Team titles, the Women's title, the Women's Tag titles and finally, the Hardcore title. Rage had the other 6 titles. They were the EWL World title, the Oscor title, the World Tag titles, the Ladies' title, the Bright Star title, as well as the Cruiserweight title. Oscor was the name of the country we were in. Robbie was a boy and he was on Battlefield. This limited his choices significantly. He could find a partner, or he could challenge for the 3 singles belts on the brand. Robbie asked if we were going to continue helping him. "Of course we are. Friends help friends." Suzie said. I smiled and added "We help each other. We get to be on TV as your managers. You get backup and protection from us. It's a win-win." That was enough. We could capitalize.
