Having lost the titles like this, they had a rematch clause in their contracts. At the very least, Byron did at my urging. The rematch was of course, a tables match. They won it back only to lose it the very next Picric to a team from the angry Paw and Claw faction. You could only get a rematch if you were a reigning champion. That meant you needed at least one successful defense. Byron and Wilder were simply out of luck here. That was okay. Both were now 2 time tag team champions. Wilder was now nowhere near to getting fired. He even lucked out by briefly winning the 24/7 championship twice on a single night 3 weeks later. Byron no longer needed to be tied to him. That was a real relief to him. He did not really care about Wilder. Wilder was a jobber and would always be a jobber. Then again, he was carried to getting a criterion towards being a Legend. The very next week he lost the 24/7 title to Ox only to win it again a week later. That was the second criterion he crossed off. True jobbers were here only to do one thing: lose and make other wrestlers look dominant. He could win.
It would be long shot, but it could happen. He won 4 tables matches. If he won just six more, he would get Table Setter. He did not even need to win them. If he competed in 16 more, he would get A Seat and the Table. Either one would make him a Legend in the company. He would be a certified hardcore Legend at that. Byron was so much better off. The Big Splinter Man challenge saw Byron win 10 tables matches in a row. That not only got him the Table Setter criterion, it also made him Untouchable with a 22-0 win streak. He was already a Legend. So were Benson and I. Managed Demolition was what I set as our new goal. It was a real challenge, but something very obtainable. You had to manage a wrestler or team to 10 consecutive wins. It was in the winning category, so it would be enough to push both brothers over the top to the Hall of Famer status as well. We might have been an offshoot, but the larger faction was Liam's. He was going for the International title. So was Owen. The 3 of us took a break from in-ring competition the next couple of months to manage them both.
As we were managing them both, it was easy to rack up the number of consecutive wins. It was not like they were always booked. Sometimes, it was only one of them. It was fine. We just made a show of force. There were a few weeks where neither of them were booked. As it was the main roster, there was a lot of good talent. Now that none of us had a belt, it was easy to overlook us. After getting 10 consecutive wins as managers, we were all in the Hall of Famer tier for the Incubi team. Liam was able to get a #1 contenders match for the International Championship. As always, the 4 of us went down the ring to support him. Liam did not need any of my help to win. This meant that he was going to get his first title shot on the main roster. Upper management did not want interference for the match. It was going to be a Steel Cage match. If he could win this, our faction would be back in the spotlight. All of our careers had been for this moment. This was the last pay-per-view before the end season. If he won at Evil Intentions then got in the Royal Ropes Rumble, he could go to Optimum Drive.
