My study was used. The door was locked. I had 2 glass cups. Pressing them against the wooden door, Johna and I could listen in. Grissell grilled him for being a "dirty" colorless. She demanded to see what he really looked like without the illusion. They were there for a few minutes. Haganrich gave a heartfelt appeal to her. She wanted to deny him so hard. Johna and I knew the tone of voice she was using. They were going back and forth. Eventually, it came to an end. She was using all the anti-colorless talking points. Grissell was not hiding her bigotry at all. I heard her say "Do whatever degeneracy you want, but if you hurt my child, we're going to kill you. Do you understand me, deviant!?" She threatened him. Haganrich was totally silent. "Go on now. Don't even think about telling anyone what we spoke about." she said. I dragged Johna off and we scurried down the hallway before the door opened. Haganrich looked really unsettled. So much so that he forgot to put his ring back on. There was a shocked look on his face. He fumbled with the ring and dropped it onto the floor.

I took Johna's glass and told her to go comfort him. Since we were the one's being so nosey, I could not simply barge in and confront Grissell about it now. That was just going to have to wait a bit. Haganrich was the one clearly shaken up about it. We were going to prioritize comforting him. Johna joined him in front of the study and helped him slip the ring back on his finger. "Is everything alright? You don't look okay." she said. He flinched and led her away from the study. "E-everything's... fine. I was just so nervous speaking with your mother." he said. Haganrich led her directly to me. I was still holding the glasses. He looked at them in confusion. "Would the happy couple like to share a glass of fruit juice?" I offered. That was the only thing that made sense at the moment. He was too frazzled to think much about anything other than that horrible conversation. It was good for us. We went to the icebox and poured the juice into the glasses. Dinner was over. After smoothing everything over, Haganrich went back to the inn he was staying in. The crisis had been averted. We saved the day.

Now that Grissell had essentially assented to the union, there was nothing keeping them from getting married. It still took Haganrich a whole month to gather up the balls to formally ask me for my daughter's hand. I did not blame him one bit. I would be scared out my mind too. Tradition stated that he ask the father. Grissell was no longer a factor. It was granted to him easily. He then proposed to her. She accepted it. I brought out a nice vintage wine to celebrate. Haganrich and Johna made a good couple when you thought about it. Both of them had warm thoughts and high opinions of the other. It was a match born of romance and love. Their children would be very magically gifted too. It was in their blood now. That was simply a bonus. Haganrich was all to happy to agree to have his children be born to the Rhombus Family. This was another match that I no longer had to worry over. All of my children were either working or married. It was to a point that I could relax. The marriage was like all of the others. It was done under the watchful eye of Enetes the shaman. Grissell didn't approve.
