I was not sexist. If she wanted to lead a matriarchal line, that was fine with me. "Like I said, you will be marrying a commoner with no real family name. They will likely not have much money unless you guys want to go out for adventuring." I said. Holly nodded her head. She said "I'm fine with that. Father. I also graduated from the mage academy." I stood up and walked around my desk. "That's fine. Go and fall in love with someone you can give your life to. All your children will have the Rhombus Family name." I promised her with my hand on her shoulder. We then left. While my daughters were seeking romance, my sons were left in the cold. Even as nobles, there was no one that wanted to give their daughters to a hybrid. That was a shame. Even when I asked Betan and Alane to help me look, there were no willing young women. The people of Mansfield were clear. They did not want to accept my sons. I was happy that we also had roots in Huntston. There were a lot of mercenaries that were willing to do just about anything for money and fame. There was a family that was pretty good.
Being mercenaries was not the only unique thing about them. The father had white hair and yellow eyes. Apparently, that was not considered colorless due to the dark skin he had. Honestly, it was striking. That did not matter at all though. They were also seen as outcasts. His children had different colored hair. His son had black hair. In my full opinion, it was cool. It was definitely seen as more acceptable by the others in the town. His daughter had white hair like him. She was not going to be seen as very valuable as a wife. That was perfect for me. I asked her father if Ren could marry her. His nose curled up at the idea. That did not make me like him. Reaction aside, he agreed as long as I paid him. A girl like her did not need a high bride price. Something that I did not expect was that Holly went over to the brother of Ren's fiancé. It was surprising. They got to talking and he agreed to marry her as well. They would get to move to Mansfield and would no longer be as marginalized. My family would be tied to theirs now. There was no better friend than me when it came to full protection.
Considering that Len and Molly were now both working hard and out of my sphere of influence, their decision to marry or not would be left solely up to them. That meant I no longer had to worry so much about Len, Ren, Molly and Holly. There was still a lot of work to be done for my other children. Johna, Bruiser, Boxer, Brawler and Battler still needed to marry. Getting jobs for my sons would also be nice. That was when a great idea popped into my head. We could make our own business. Grissell was, by now, an established artist in the county. Selling her work out of the county would probably be a good source of money. Bruiser, Boxer, Brawler and Battler could be the ones to help transport it. If we ran into any bandits, we would slaughter them and take their loot. As a phantom thief, I knew how to case places and hustle people. I just needed my wife to be on board. She thought about it for a bit. "Yon has been in need of money for a while with his new child on the way. Can we include him in it?" she asked. "Of course. He's the son of an architect. Let him draw and sketch too. I'll sell it."
