"Well, Kyla called the first one #189. I mixed this variant up just for you...so #190 I suppose. 189 is how I got here," she said. "I'm looking forward to seeing how it works. I'm not even sure why it works...I mean, it's interesting something that wasn't designed to have such a drastic effect does." She started a nearby video camera and injected the entire syringe into Sarah's arm. "This is Test #190. Sarah McMillan. Subject is aggressive, argumentative, and downright rude. If my hypothesis is correct, she'll be much more pleasant soon enough."
Sarah began to feel very warm.
"The 190 formula has been engineered using new samples. Whereas the original 189 experiment was meant to capture qualities necessary for public speaking, such as confidence, this version is capture other qualities."
Lia took Sarah's temperature with a infrared thermometer, then took her pulse. "Vitals elevating."
Sarah began to convulse, her eyes rolled back in her head. That's when the truly weird stuff started to happen. She started to shrink within her clothes...her figure flattening out, she seemed to lose a bit of height as well. Her face began to shift, growing less symmetrical. Her hair darkened. Before long, the figure in the chair was unrecognizable as Sarah McMillan.
Lia shook the form awake. "What...happened?" The form didn't even sound like Sarah anymore.
"Well, you should have all of Sarah's memories. You may have some problems processing them."
"I can't see...clearly."
"Your eyes should be..." Lia paused. "One second..." She slipped a pair of glasses in front of Sarah's eyes. "Better?"
"Yes. What was your plan?" The voice was soft, curious. It didn't sound like Sarah.
"Well, I need to perfect the research."
"People will notice what happened."
"You assume that, but the truth is kind of hard for them to believe. Sometimes a lie is easier."
