“Don’t worry. I’m not running away. I just need a minute to myself. I need to think everything through,” Karyn said.
“Are you certain you do not wish one of us to accompany you?” Madeleine asked.
“No, thanks. I’ll only be five minutes. I just need to clear my head and think.” Karyn looked back at Jon. “Don’t worry. I’ll be back in a few minutes. Honestly.” She crossed the office, opened the door and stepped through it.
“Should we follow her?” Jon asked Madeleine as the door closed behind Karyn.
“Non, give 'er some time on 'er own to process what she 'as learned."
"There is still the other question," Jon said. "Where's Simone?"
Madeleine looked at him. "She walked into the door you arrived through...does it not make sense that she is where you were?"
"So, she's in the future, and in America." Jon paused. "And she was panicking BEFORE she went through."
Madeleine nodded. "I am sure being in an unfamiliar place will not help with that. There is a decision you have to make. You should make it before your friend returns."
"What is that?"
"If we wish to return Simone to where she was, and your friend to return with you we will need Simone back here. I am not sure how we will fix this, but it cannot be without both of them, I would think," Madeleine said.
"Yes?"
"If you return through the door to find her and bring her back...what if you cannot figure out how to return to this place?" She asked. "And if you stay...then you could be here for some time. There is no easy decision."
