Eric went downstairs and saw It was tacos, one of his favorites. He started to set the table when Shannon came down and started to pitch in.
"I expect you to behave you two," threatened mom.
"I'll treat him just like I would cousin Anna," replied Shannon winking at me.
"Anna is your favorite cousin, so I guess I'll take it."
Eric groaned as he finished putting out the folks and knives. Shannon put out the fixings. Dad came downstairs, just in time to not have to do anything. The four of us sat down and started serving ourselves when he asked, "Anything interesting today?" to the table
"Just a typical Sunday for me. We have everything we need foodwise for the week and I have my case ready to roll for tomorrow. How about you kids? Do anything today besides get into a fight?"
"Just chillin' I got 3 things done for Eric here, then did homework for my classes with Rachel," smirked Shannon. Eric glared at her.
"What did you do for Eric?" asked dad.
"You know, big sister things. Teaching him stuff. probably will be teaching him more in the coming days. He has a lot to learn." I finished making my taco in silence.
"That's nice of you. His classes are rigorous. I'm glad you are her to help him learn, " added mom.
"Did you make the tacos differently? They smell different," I asked as I was about to have my first one. Shannon just smiled at me.
"No, honey. Same spice blend and meat. Just eat them," answered mom.
"I have the same thing from time to time, where things taste and smell a little different. Mom, does that happen to you?" asked Shannon.
"Only when I was pregnant with the two of you, why?"
"Just wondering if it a genetic thing, those pesky X chromosomes."
Eric just ate the taco, even though it didn't taste or smell quite the same, they were still good. Small talk continued through dinner and dessert, of which Eric had 2 portions. He put his hand on his stomach as it started to ache.
"You OK kiddo?".
"Just a stomach ache dad. Maybe I shouldn't have had that 3rd taco," answered Eric. Shannon had a look like she wanted to say something, but she remained quiet as everyone cleared the table and went their separate ways. Eric went upstairs to stream something on his computer to ignore his situation for a little while. At least the advil helped his nipples. He was partway through an episode of Sakamoto Days when his phone dinged. It was his sister.
"Hey Erica. I recommend you take 4 advil at a time for your 'stomachache.' In my experience less doesn't help."
"What are you talking about?" Eric messaged back
"Just some sisterly advice, from big sister to little sister."
"I am NOT your sister, Shannon."
"Don't be all hormonal Erica. I figured you'd need some help over the next few days, but if want to do it solo that's fine. Have a good night sis!" She sent a gif of two girls hugging.
Eric went back to Sakamoto days, and finishing homework, for another with the stomachache getting worse then better but always there. Reluctantly, he got up and went to the bathroom for 2 more advil and took them just in case his sister was right. He went back to his room and started to lift the freeweights he had in there. Some curls, skullcrushers, deltoid work then planks and crunches. He went downstairs to get some water before getting ready for bed. He showered quickly, brushed his teeth and then sat down to pee. Eric was looking forward to when he could stand again. He went back to his room to watch another episode of the anime before texting Steve about hanging out after school. Soon, Eric was asleep.
