Leslie awoke to the smell of coffee. He put on an oversized t-shirt and boxers and went to the kitchen to see Staci in her sleepwear pouring herself a cup
"Well, looks like I won't be changing today either. At least not this morning. Things are slowing down though, so maybe this afternoon I can borrow the medallion?" asked Staci.
Leslie just stood there, brain overwhelmed by the talk of Staci's period, let alone without coffee to help.
"Right, Les, you are a guy under that woman's body. Well, let me you some coffee while you process what I said. How'd you sleep?"
That one Leslie knew the answer too, "pretty well actually. Do you know what the breakfast plans are?"
"I don't think there are any, actually. Lila and the others didn't come back last night. You, me and Tammy can get something."
Leslie thought about what the ramifications were of Lila, Amber and Kiki not coming back while he answered, "Let me get changed first. We can cook something here, like eggs and then brainstorm what we want to do today."
After some coffee, Leslie goes back to his room and strips. Grabbing the medallion, Leslie touches it to the boxers that will change him back into his male self. Feeling the shock, and some relief, he checks to see if any of the missing girls messaged last night. Seeing nothing, he messages the 6 person group that Staci, Tammi and he are going to get breakfast supplies and to message back if they want anything. After the 30 minutes, Leslie leaves the bedroom in his male body and clothing.
"Les! I can't be the only girl on this trip!" yelled Staci.
"You don't have to be. One of the others can change. I took the first one for the team, because I agree you shouldn't be alone. But, one of the others can do that now."
Staci pauses for a minute, "Tammi owes me one after last night... Can I borrow the medallion?"
"Of course, but please put it in the bag when Tammi is done with it and back in my room, " replies Leslie, "I can walk to the market to grab things while she changes. Thanks for the coffee earlier." Leslie gets the medallion and gives it to Staci before leaving. It's a beautiful fall day, so he decides to grab a reusable bag and walks the 1/2 mile to the store. He grabs eggs, bread and other things to eat over the next 24 hours, trying to keep it under $20. Checkout is smooth and Leslie walks home, taking in the small town. The quiet moment is broken when a text buzzes in his pockets, which he appreciate more now than he did a week ago.
"Ladies, last night was epic! We have already eaten out this morning and had breakfast too. One of the girls is giving us a ride back now. See you in 15 besties! " Lila texts with a emoji of a peach.
