It was a very beautiful ceremony. Neither me nor my children knew anything about what had to happen. We had Gerald to explain it to us beforehand. He made that sure all things went well for us. Our family had front row seats throughout the whole thing in the chapel. Afterwards was a small wedding feast. It was nice. We got to eat and dance. I had taught my children and Grissell's family how to dance. It was essential to the role of being a gentleman criminal and phantom thief. I was good at the waltz as well as latin ballroom dances. Yon and Alard were able to dance decently well with their wives thanks to me. Johna was able to teach Alane. Lennox was able to teach his new wife, Nota, as well. Molly and Rabbie were already married. She had a little time to teach him the basic steps. Holly and Lenard were usual partners. I had 3 sons and 3 daughters after all. That left Leonardo on his own. As this was a major celebration at the cathedral, he did not have a lack of young women that were willing to dance with him. Gerald was a private and quite man. This was the first big occasion.

As the lovely night went on, Holly, Leonardo and Lenard had multiple partners on the dance floor. I stuck to my wife. She was only in her 30s, so she was still very spry. It was important to me that everyone saw that I loved her and that she was the most beautiful woman in the world. She did not want to do all the more provocative moves I had taught everyone. She was still handling things with grace. My waltz and bachata was different from the dancing that was popular here. That was fine with us. We were not sacred to stand out and shine bright. Lenard was actually able to snag a dance with a wallflower. She was nervous and shy, surrounded by other girls. Lenard was persistent and managed to get her to the floor. Once they got to the end of the song, she scurried off. Lenard followed after her with a slow gait. He was on the prowl. I recognized this in him and Leonardo. Lenard was in a sadistic mood. I pat Grissell on the arm. She blinked. "Keep an eye on Leonardo with Holly. I am going to follow Lenard." I told her. She pulled me closer. "Don't let them ruin this!" she hissed.

Just being cautious could save lives. Following after Lenard, the chase took us to a central staircase. "Please stop following me, sir. I am not worthy of such attention. It's fine enough to leave things as they are!" she called out when she got halfway up the stairs. She had no clue where these stairs led. Lenard had more of an idea than her since we were the bishop's guests. "I want to give you some attention. That makes you worthy enough to me. It was also really cute to watch you try to leave." he said confidently. She shook her head, looking totally shocked. "No one ever pays attention to me. I'm just an illegitimate daughter of a minor noble family. There is absolutely no benefit to you being with me." she said looking down at the steps under her. Lenard smiled. "We're triplets and not even fully human, but our father loves us anyway. I think that, maybe, bastards like us should stick together." he said. She was speechless now. Lenard walked up the stairs to her. "Will you join me for another dance?" he asked. She nervously held out her hand. He grabbed it firmly. He would not let it go.
