John stumbled through the front door of his house, the click of his unfamiliar heels against the hardwood echoing through the empty hallway. His legs ached from the unnatural posture the shoes forced upon him, and the skirt of the dress swished around his thighs with each precarious step. To his relief, his parents were still at work, giving him precious hours before he'd have to face anyone who knew him. He climbed the stairs to his bedroom, each step a reminder of his changed reality, the stone's magic still holding firm in Sarah's possession.
That night, sleep came fitfully, plagued by nightmares of endless hallways filled with pointing fingers and laughing faces. When John woke, the morning sun filtering through his curtains revealed his worst fears realized—he was still trapped in the feminine form Sarah had crafted. The dress lay beside him on the bed, exactly as he'd left it, along with the cursed shoes that had caused him so much misery the previous day.
With trembling hands, he dressed himself, the familiar motions now alien as he navigated the unfamiliar clothing. The bra still fit perfectly, the panties felt strangely comfortable against his altered anatomy, and the dress slid over his smaller frame with disturbing ease. He paused before putting on the shoes, staring at them as if they were venomous snakes.

The campus loomed ahead, a maze of potential humiliations, each building a potential stage for his impending shame. Every crunch of gravel under his heels sounded like a gunshot announcing his arrival, every gust of wind threatening to lift the hem of his dress and expose his predicament to the world. His heart hammered against his ribs, each beat a reminder of his powerlessness. The morning air, usually crisp and invigorating, now felt suffocating, pressing in on him from all sides as if the atmosphere itself were conspiring with Sarah's cruel game. He could already hear the whispers, feel the stares that would soon follow him across the quad, each gaze like a physical touch on his altered skin, each laugh a dagger aimed at his wounded pride.Students passed by, some giving him curious glances, others too absorbed in their own worlds to notice the transformation. John kept his head down, his hair falling to partially obscure his face, hoping desperately to make it to his first class without confrontation.

His plan was to slip into the back of the lecture hall, keep his head down, and pray no one recognized him. As he entered the building, his heart raced, each footstep on the tiled floor feeling unnaturally loud in his ears.

John froze, his hand on the doorknob. Slowly, he turned to face his friend Mark, who stood staring at him with wide eyes and an expression of utter bewilderment. Before John could stammer out an explanation, Mark's phone was already in his hand, the camera pointed directly at him.
"Dude, what the hell?" Mark exclaimed, his finger hovering over the capture button. "Is this some kind of joke? Are you in drag or what?"
John's face burned with humiliation, his mouth opening and closing uselessly as he struggled to find words. Mark didn't wait for an explanation—the sound of the camera shutter clicking filled the hallway, followed by the whoosh of a message being sent. John's stomach dropped as he realized Mark had already shared the photo.
"I have to show this to the guys," Mark said, already typing rapidly on his phone, his thumb moving with frantic urgency across the screen. "They're never going to believe this." John's heart sank further as he saw the typing bubble appear next to Mark's name in his own contact list—he was likely already in a group chat, the image spreading like a virus through their social circle. John's mind raced, desperation clawing at his throat as he tried to salvage some shred of dignity. He couldn't tell the truth—Sarah's threat loomed too large, too terrifying. So he drew on every ounce of acting ability he didn't know he possessed.
"It's... it's not what it looks like," John stammered, forcing a shaky laugh that sounded more like a sob. "I lost a bet last weekend, okay? A really stupid bet with my cousin." Mark paused his typing, his expression shifting from shock to skeptical amusement. "A bet?" he repeated, lowering his phone slightly but keeping it angled toward John, as if ensuring he could still capture any sudden movements. "What kind of bet ends with you wearing... that?" He gestured vaguely at John's entire ensemble, from the fitted dress to the precarious heels.
John swallowed hard, the lie tasting like ash in his mouth. "It was a football thing. I was so sure the Titans would win, but..." He trailed off, shrugging helplessly, the movement feeling unnatural in the restrictive dress. "The terms were... specific. Had to wear this for a full day, including classes." He added quickly, trying to sound casual, "And anyway, it's like 2026—nobody really cares about this stuff anymore, right? People express themselves in all kinds of ways." Mark's brow furrowed, his finger hovering over his phone screen as he considered John's explanation. The lie felt flimsy, paper-thin against the weight of reality, but John plastered on what he hoped was a convincing smile, his newly delicate features straining with the effort.
"Right," Mark said slowly, his skepticism evident but not absolute. "Well, you definitely lost that bet spectacularly." He finally lowered his phone completely, though the damage was already done. John could practically hear the notifications pinging on his friends' phones across campus, the image making its way through their social networks with alarming efficiency. As they entered the classroom together, John felt the weight of curious stares, the whispering behind cupped hands, and the barely concealed snickers that followed him to his seat in the back row.
