"I wish I knew what was happening," she said. And suddenly, she knew. She knew everything about the wish chain that Sarah McMillan had started and she knew about all the changes it had caused. It was so strange. Sarah Merlin used to be a snobby preppy rich girl named Sarah McMillan who hated Goths and everything that had to do with them. And now she was a Goth herself with no memory of her previous life. And Scarlet's sudden customer increase was due to a wish that Biff made on his way out. Apparently, now whenever someone glanced into her store through the storefront window, they would immediately have the urge to buy something that they usually wouldn't. Normally, Scarlet would be against magic being used this way, but what was the harm in using it to increase her sales? She was already occasionally hypnotizing people to buy stuff, so what was the difference?
Her thoughts returned to this "wishing chain" that was happening. Now that she knew that it existed, she thought of ways to exploit it. From what she now knew, she had the chance to make another wish, since the wish she already made was one for herself. As long as she kept on making selfish wishes, she'd have nearly an infinite amount of chances to have wishes granted. She could have practically anything she wanted.
She smiled, already knowing the next one to make. "I wish ..."
