Biff's next class, or at least the class that Biff's mind told him Karyn was supposed to go to next, was one that he shared with Jon.
Jon Gibson.
Something still told Biff that Jon had to be responsible for whatever was happening, but it was a difficult thought to hold onto. He just knew that Jon made him uncomfortable.
He also knew that Jon and Karyn were supposed to be friends, so he was very guarded as he took a seat and avoided eye contact with the boy. But it felt like Jon was avoiding eye contact with him, as well. While that was in one way a relief, it also confirmed Biff's suspicions: Jon knew what was going on. He was a part of it.
Biff turned his head forward, feeling the weight of his hair moving behind him, the subtle tug of the butterfly wing claw clip at his temples, and put Jon out of his mind. A calmness settled into him at the reminder of his time in the library with Kyla. That's how Biff wanted to feel. He wanted to be around people who made him feel safe and comfortable and serene.
Not around Jon Gibson.
Jon, for his part, was trying to figure out what, if anything, he should do. Logic would follow that if Karyn was in Biff's body, then Biff was now in Karyn's, but he didn't know that for sure. What if Karyn's personality had been somehow duplicated, instead of swapped? And the middle of a classroom full of other students was not the right place to test any theories.
Hell, even if he definitely knew for a fact that it was Biff inside of his friend's body, how would he even start that conversation without risking Biff going nuclear, or even just having a classmate overhear him saying weird things.
So Jon sat in silence as class began, and just tried to observe the person in Karyn's body as much as possible, as discretely as possible.
She certainly wasn't acting like Biff, Jon thought to himself halfway through the class period. But Karyn in Biff's body hadn't been acting much like Karyn that morning, to be fair. Maybe their bodies were affecting their behavior.
But this much?
In a moment when the teacher was facing away, "Karyn" leaned over and reached out towards Gladys Brewer sitting next to her, brushing a stray lock of hair behind Gladys's ear. There was this warm smile on Karyn's lips as she did this that was unlike anything he'd seen on the real Karyn before. It was softer than Karyn would ever smile. Sweeter. And while Karyn was certainly a girl, she had never been quite so girly as to groom another girl in the middle of class. Jon's Karyn, at most, would have subtly pointed it out, and allowed the other girl to fix herself.
Maybe that wasn't Biff in there, after all?
The bell eventually rang, and Jon went to gather his things, and when he looked up, "Karyn" was walking out the door alongside a small group of girls: Gladys and Kyla, and a few others. Usually she left this class with him. It looked like whoever was piloting Karyn's body, they felt comfortable with this group of girls. If Jon had never known Karyn before, he would swear the bunch looked like the most natural thing in the world.
But knowing what he did, he was concerned.
