"So, you wanna go to the mall and hang out? Or just stay here?" Karyn asked.
Jon looked down at his homework. He still had to finish his math and science. So, at least another hour or maybe two. He looked up at Karyn and said "Let's go. I can do this later." He really needed a break.
"Okay," she said, standing up from the bed. "You want to take the stone with us? Maybe try it out a little?"
"I think it's better if we leave it here. What if I lost it and someone else got their hands on it? Who knows what kind of changes to reality could happen? I could suddenly have a little brother or not have a twin sister or something. No, the stone stays here where I know it'll be safe."
Karyn shrugged. "Okay, but we can try it out later, right?"
"Of course. I want to try it out too. But I also want to be as safe about it as possible. After your accidental wish, I'm sure you agree."
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
And with that, Jon and Karyn headed to the mall ... without the stone.
