I read it. In FOG, it would not make sense to make a Player immortal. The Player already could respawn if they died. It could not be interpreted to be invincible either. No game could. There would be no stakes to anything if you actually could not die from combat or to the environment you found yourself in. Instead, I got a boost so that no normally spawned NPC could kill me. It was simply a boost of 50 levels. That brought me to level 64. All the NPCs that ate it would be immortal. They could no longer die in this game. Even if they were brought down to where they would be killed through active damage, the lowest their health could go was 1. They would then regenerate their HP. The man was very wise. He was not going to say where he got the big meal from. Doing this was still very illegal. All he said was "Sometimes fate finds a way to bring joy into our lives." I was fine with leaving it at that. I did not care about the hunter that wanted to kill us. I gathered my squad and we left together. I did not know if they noticed. Personally, I did not care. We had a feast. The 4 could protect me now.
Now that I was level 64, I did end up getting a promotion in the gang. I decided to run a drug lab. Taking care of the people using the drugs seemed a bit too annoying. If I could pull this off, I could make a lot of money. This was only a week after eating the bounty hunter. I was just starting out, so I also had a small hole in the wall to operate in. It was a tiny shed in the backyard of an abandoned house. I started off with only one guy. He had a shitty chemistry set. This was not going to go anywhere unless I could got some results. I had to reach into my savings to buy him better supplies and equipment to use. He was cooking meth and crack in the lab. I had to buy him the powder cocaine from other gang members. Having variety did bring in a bit more revenue. You had to spend money to make money sometimes. The money made by the lab was reinvested back into the business. I fixed up the shed and the lawn in front of the lab. Wyne and Steele came with me to provide security for the area. This got us a huge boost in the Security metrics. Nabo and Dennis stayed behind at the brothel.
Oscar was the name of the guy who was making the drugs for us. He could not work around the clock. That would not be fair to him. We did not need him making some mistakes that would get people killed. Dead customers could not come back and pay for more product. It only made sense to treat my worker well. I offered to take him to the aquarium. He had not been in a while, so he accepted it. The 4 of us went together. It was just about time for the merfolk show to begin when we arrived. It was Noah on shift again. Oscar was immediately taken by the beauty of the performance in the tank. I could see the blush on his cheeks. When Noah placed his hands on the glass for the children, Oscar went up too. When Noah saw him, he smiled wide. Oscar did his best to compose himself. Noah finished his big set with some more tricks and activities. I thought that it was a success. "Hey. Is that merman... single?" he asked me as we were walking away. There was a lot more to see. I turned to him. "Noah? I don't know if he is single. Be careful though. He needs body fluids to use his 2 legs."
