I looked back to see there was only a small trail of water. Low tide meant that the water was farther down from the shore. We had to go single file up to get in here. It was important to see if we could see the sky. If there was a full cave roof, there would be no way for the moonlight to reach us. There were multiple small holes in the roof of the cave. Some of them were above us. That was lucky. The other chamber was probably much better. It was too late to make the switch though. We only had a shallow pool for the 7 of us to rest in. The wait was going to be intense. "Wow. It looks like we barely made it here." I said out loud. It drew a couple of sour looks. "We almost lost our chance to complete the trials due to making a massive detour." one of the other caregivers said. He was fine with just submitting to his role. "Well, I thank you all for doing it. I wouldn't be here if not. I am in your debt." Nabo said cheerfully. All we could do was wait. One was slapping his tail against the water, splashing water in an attempt to annoy the others. One of them took the bait and said "Would you stop it!?"
Getting into it was futile. "We're no longer guppies, so calm down! Once we are bathed in the light of the full moon, we'll be adults!" "Make me then." was the response. It was the caregiver that wanted to fight. Another warrior sighed and looked around the pool. He said "It's really not worth it. Him being immature does not stop what we are here to do. Just focus on yourselves." "He cheated when he threw the sand in my eyes during the fight! It's not fair. I should be a warrior!" The squad leader scoffed. It made the petulant one glare at him. "There's no rules in a fight. If you want something, then you take it. You saw what happened to Nabo. You weren't strong enough, so you'll be a caregiver." the leader said. I was in the same boat as the complainer. Maybe I could ally with him. If we stood back to back, maybe we could get out of here. A surefire way to be excommunicated from the tribe, but we could be on the land. When the full moon rose in the sky, we saw the thin rays of moonlight focus on us in the pool. We began to change. It was painless for me, a Player. It hurt for everyone else.
Having been a human for my entire life, I was able to stand up. My 2 human legs were really wobbly. It was like I was standing on pins and needles. That did not matter to me. It was fine since I had my trident. I could use it as a walking stick. Everyone else had been born with a fish tail. Aside from the pain, they would be like a Bambi for some time. That was time for me to strike. No one would be able to stop me. They were all in pain as their scales fell away and their tails split down the middle to become legs. Everyone grunted in extreme discomfort as their internal testes popped out of them. Before I could help up the one who was complaining, Nabo shouted "It is worse than the spears of my traitor tribesmen! What sorcery is this!?" He was in a lot of pain. As Nabo grabbed his balls and dick, he rolled onto his stomach. He was a big, bulky guy covered in muscle. His ass was no different. I had a new method of attack. I went to Nabo and dragged him out of the water. His ass was still in the air. I then went to the complainer. "Here work with me if you want to be a warrior." I whispered.
