The next morning, Jon was running late. He quickly got dressed, shoved the wishing stone in his pocket and ran to the bus stop, a waffle dangling from his mouth. He made it just in time.
As he made his way down the bus aisle to the bench he normally sat at, he passed by a freshman girl by the name of Irene. She had braces and braided blonde hair and seemed to be covered in mud. Or rather, the remnants of mud that had soaked into her Lillith Darknight shirt, a character Jon only recognized because of Zoe’s obsession.
Jon felt for her. Random happenstance of falling down on the way to the bus stop could really make for a crummy day. As he sat down in his seat, he reached into his pocket and lightly touched the familiar warmth of the wishing stone
“I wish that Irene had not fallen into the mud this morning," he whispered. And in front of him, the mud vanished, leaving Irene’s shirt pristine.
Feeling good about the good deed, Jon sat back in the bench seat and began to fantasize about what else he could use a wishing stone for to make the world a better place. For him, at least. Not knowing that Irene had been added to his direct network, and that she was fantasizing in turn about the strange pyramid wishing stone that she had found when Doris and her cronies had tried to push her into the mud.
