Matt and Cheryl found themselves escorted inside by Pedro. The entered via the main entrance and Matt had to restrain himself from gaping at the totally over the top furnishings. The mansion was only 3 or 4 years old but it seemed they were trying to replicate the a 19th century palace.
Then he realised Pedro was saying something, fortunately he was apparently talking to 'Melody' "Amelia has organised a welcome home dinner for you. The cook has been busy most of the day"
"But I'm not at home" Cheryl aka 'Melody' replied.
“We currently don’t have access to your house as it has been declared proceeds of crime. Fighting that in the courts is taking a lot of Ted’s time. Though he says that now you have been bailed we should be able to retrieve your personal belongings. That is something for tomorrow. For tonight I’m sure Amelia can find you a gown from her wardrobe"
He snapped his fingers and a woman dressed as a maid quickly appeared. “Penelope, take Senora Jones to the room you prepared”
Matt thought quickly “I’ll come with you Melody. I need to refresh myself. Perhaps we can choose something for you to wear first. What time are we expected for dinner?”
Matt addressed this question to Pedro but the maid Penelope answered “El cocinera sug....gest 8pm Senorita” She had a very strong Mexican accent and clearly English was not her native tongue.
Pedro cut in “Penelope. Take Senora Jones to the Senorita Amelia’s suite. I would like a private word with Amelia”
That told Matt that Amelia lived in this house. He felt sick once more. Here he was in a skirt suit and a very female body. It seemed odds on that the body he was occupying was the fiancé of one of these gangsters.
Matt watched as Penelope led ‘Melody’ to a rather grand staircase. They were talking but Matt could not make out the words. Pedro lightly touched his arm and said “Come to my library”
