Something that I was not expecting was a text from Oswin. It had been 7 weeks in-game since I had last seen him. He might have had some great guns and good guys in his clan, but that was not enough. The government had single handedly wiped them out and occupied their transmission hub. Most major clans established their clan buildings on top of the transmission hub. The transmission hubs would usually pull the strings to make it happen. All of that was a pipe dream for Impact Clan after they were occupied. The same was true for Toxic and Radiation Clan. The government and military were not leaving without a fight. Even with 5 PEA units, a hostile assault to retake the base was not possible. The PEA units had no memory nanite chips. If they died, it was over for them. Oswin was not going to be able to replace them. Oswin's ambitions would be crushed. He had to play it smart. As a major clan in exile, he had to establish a new clan building. That was pretty easy. Every city and town had at least one safehouse. It was not hard to recruit PEP units or have a new clan building.
The base was a couple of towns over from the city the transmission hub was in. The next problem was that he was broke. He now had 10 cyborg members of the newly restarted Impact Clan. It was something he had to figure out. Luckily for him, he ran into a solution to his problem. There was a young woman busking in town as he was walking around and looking for ways to make music. Seeing people donating credits as she sung, he asked her how to do it. He was a cyborg. Oswin had perfect pitch and tone. He was lacking creativity however. That could only get him so far. Since he was a great musician, the woman decided to form a band with him. She wrote and was the main vocalist. Oswin was lead guitar and back up vocalist. 2 PEA units took the roll of drummer and keyboardist. The woman's brother played bass guitar. Using all sorts of hacking, they played music in decent sized venues and scammed their way to the top of the charts. Oswin's front for his clan building was a party venue rental. They renovated it to a night club. It became popular quickly. I was now invited.
Under the circumstances, there was no reason not to go. There was no blockade in the area. Nothing was going on in my clan at the moment. Oswin was a friend. I said I would be there. Driving there was a hassle. There was a parking lot a couple of blocks from the club. I arrived in the morning. I called him as soon as I got out of the yellow sedan. He said he would meet me there. I waited for him on the sidewalk to make it easier on us. When he found me, he had a big bouquet of roses for me. They were red and in full bloom. Flowers were not something that I had a use for. Fake flowers in a video game had even less use. That was actually pretty nice of him nonetheless. I thanked him as I took it from him. He then led me to the night club that he had opened. "It's making us some revenue as we plan for the assault." Oswin's smile said it all. He was happily going over his plans as he gave me the tour. I was very impressed. "Getting a #1 single is amazing. Are you going to release an album? I would like to hear it." I said. He smirked. "Greta is writing it now." he said in response.
