Nurse Ratched came in with gear to draw blood. As she was wrapping the tourniquet, she asked ""I'm surprised you could get into the military like that. How'd you get the exception?"
"I actually didn't need one, ma'am"
"I was in the army, and any...person that looked like you wouldn't have gotten in, back in my day, unless they got an exception."
"I guess protocols changed ma'am. They were happy to have a man like me serve. I saw a lot of action too."
The nurse took the needle out of Leslies arm after getting the 7 vials of blood. "Thank you for your service, dear. The doctor should be back soon. Could you give a urine sample?" Leslie took the cup and went into the bathroom to provide. He held the cup out to catch, but the urine came out the wrong part of his penis. He moved the cup to get most of the sample, and left it in the box as documented. He had gotten some on the gown, so he tried to dry off with a paper towel or 2 without much luck. He scampered (since when did he scamper?) back to his room and took the gown off. He put his sweats back and was putting on his sportsbra when the doctor came back in.
"Hello Leslie, I'm going to need you to pull your pants back off. Let me get you another gown to change into then I'll step out. Since you identify as male, I'm going to need a chaperone, since I identify as female. See you in a couple minutes." The doctor stepped out and Leslie took off his pants and put the gown on. Then the nurse came in with the doctor.
"Please lay back and I'll start with an abdominal evaluation and we will proceed from there," said Dr Nicholas. Leslie winced a bit as the cold gel was placed on his skin. The probe was on looking at his insides, with Dr Nicholas nodding as she looked. He only saw black and white pixels.
"Leslie, I saw a lot of normal organs, but could not see far enough into the pelvis to see what I needed to see. I'll need to do scrotal and inguinal images. Let's get you in position," explained the doctor as she pulled out the stirrups. The medical team put one leg in each one, with Leslie feeling very exposed with his legs wide open. "Perfect, please say like that. This will get cold."
More goop was placed just under his dick, causing him retreat a little. The probe was placed and more nodding ensued from the hot doctor. Soon, but not soon enough, the evaluation stopped and the gel was wiped away. Nurse Ratched took the machine out of the room, while the gown was pulled down to cover him up again.
"Well, it appears you have something in both inguinal canals. They could be testes, but they are smaller, like ovaries. There is also a small follicle that an ovary would have before a period. Have you ever menstruated?"
What kind of question is that to ask a guy? "No, ma'am." replied Leslie realizing his legs were still splayed. He got out of the stirrups, vowing to not pick on his sisters for having to go to the gynocologist ever.
"Well, after that exam, I cannot document you as a male or female. We will see what the labs say tomorrow. I may need to consult with an endocrinologist or refer you to an academic medical center. I'll call you when I have more data, in the mean time continue with your registration process. It was nice to meet you Leslie," said Dr Nicholas holding out her hand. Leslie stood up and shook it. After he was alone, he took off the gown and put on his outfit pondering next steps This plan to look kinda of like me really blew up. If I go back to being me, I'll have all this in my student file. If I don't go back to being me, my file will slowly be more of this stuff. I'm glad I have my own insurance through the VA so mom and dad won't get any bills for this stuff. I can't believe she asked me about having a period. Leslie left the exam room and checked out.
"Hey Leslie, how'd it go? Everything OK? You look upset." asked Stacy as the two left the building
"Not really. She did some tests that came back inconclusive and had labs sent. I'll know more tomorrow," replied Leslie tearing up,"I know I'm a man, but this is frustrating and embarassing. I've never had to go through an exam like that before, and I was in the military!" I need to man up and stop these tears. Why are they there anyway?
"It's ok Leslie. I'm sure Dr Nicholas will get ot the bottom of this. Need anything else for classes? I'll help you out." The two got some used textbooks at the bookstore, had a snack and just chatted getting to know eachother. Leslie felt they really had a connection. The two parted ways and Leslie went back into his apartment about 15 hours after Danny's change.
