"Err...." was what Jon got out as his enhanced brain processed what the EDITOR power could do. It affected more than the target, it caused ripples. Even with his improved intellect, he couldn't finish his thoughts before his mom called up, "Jon, it's time for Karyn to leave! Say goodbye!"
"Gotta jet now, super grateful for your homework support, cutie!" said Karyn to Jon as he grabbed the mana potion from his items. He drank it as he ran down the stairs after Karyn who he saw give his mom a hug and say, "Bye Mrs G." She was out the door.
"She's a sweet girl, Jon. You should ask her out sometime," said his mom as she closed the door with Jon looking away from her, "She's here very night to get help with her homework, and obvious thinks you are smart. She told me she thought you were cute a couple times."
"Mom, we are just friends. I'm going back to my room." Jon took out his phone and looked up Karyn on all his social media. Her accounts were different, more selfies, more emojis and fewer nature pictures. Their texts were different too. More emojis there too and fewer messages about current events. There were a lot of pictures of her in various outfits asking Jon if he thought she was cute in them. There were a few of her in bathing suits, including bikinis. She even sent one with her mom in a matching bikini, and her mom was hot now. Jon realized that Editor was serious business. He'd have to change Karyn back in the morning before school. He texted Karyn to meet at the usual spot before school, and she replied almost instantly with a thumbs up and a kissy face.
Mikey ran by to get ready for bed and Jon saw his stats again. He thought about his dad's stats from dinner, thinking about how changing something in his dad would probably change him, and realizing the same about his mother. What if he changed his siblings? It would probably change him too. How far would it go? Jon went back to his instagram account and looked at people in his class. They all looked the same, but sometimes Karyn was in photos she wouldn't have been in before, such as being a cheerleader at the football games or the picture of Karyn with Sarah and her crew. Karyn also seemed to smile more in the pictures and wear clothing that was different than her norm, more pink. Eventually, Jon realized what time it was and got ready for bed.
He got up and got ready for school. He took a different route on his bike to grind his observation skill and leveled it up another time before school.
