Joking around was not going to help things. "I personally think that following your instincts is a kind of shitty way to live here. The omegas I knew were really strong. They fought against their instincts and rose above. I feel like if you all had done the same thing, you would not be in this mess." she said. "Well, that's just your opinion! Inner omegas make people into sluts! You should fight against that. Inner alphas make you strong and the best version of you possible. Why resist that?" John snapped. "Is the best version of you a violent thug that gets pissed when things don't go your way?" she asked him. He growled in anger. James cut in. "It's not like that! We just are young and we want to have fun. We don't go fighting in school or anything. We want to go to college and get good jobs. That's why we can't go to jail for this shit. Please help us!" he begged. In the back of her mind, Anna knew why he said that. If they went to a good school, they would not be fighting because all of the other bigger and stronger alphas would beat the shit out of them for causing problems. As they should.

Kick the can down the road any further was not going to help. She had to do what was right by the firm she had just established. Anna needed to win her first case to put her law firm on a good footing. These kids were guilty as sin. Still, being sympathetic young alphas might look good to a jury. If the jury had majority alphas, they might be able to play up the angle of responding to the slurs. There was an alpha supremacy culture here. No alphas would lose a tear if an asshole beta got his ass kicked. Anna gave them one final look over. "All right. I'll defend you in court. We need to play this right. You need to listen to me if we want to get you off." she said with a deep sigh. It was going to be a challenge. This was going against her principles. Then again, another principle was to win at all costs. Standing, she reached out for a handshake from them. Both made it a point to try to crush her hand. Neither was able to manage it because she was way stronger than them. That left them confused, but they dropped it all pretty quickly. Most likely, it was just some dumb posturing from their inner alphas.
