9 months later, the boys got an email saying that their names were added to the Foreign Births Registry. They were final recognized by a country's government now. Irish citizens, as they were, were not stateless entities. They had actual legal rights to appeal to. Both Crimson and Scarlet were real people. Their fake documents were good enough to get them foreign citizenship. It was time to apply for passports for both America and Ireland. Getting a real US passport would be proof of their citizenship in the country. As resident adults, it only took a couple of months to get it. They had defrauded their government. Henry took all of the fake documents and set them on fire after cutting them up. There did not need to be any proof of the fraud. Crimson and Scarlet were legal adults and dual citizens. Noah was just a US citizen. Both Maroon and Cinnabar were still stateless as Henry had taken this very important cause up on his own. Since it had worked out well, Henry was willing to give Susan the forger's information. Because of the false information, their birth day was listed at May 16.
Just moving back 25 months on the dot would be too suspicious, so Henry also changed the date. Noah was born on June 19. It was currently early June. Everyone was getting ready for Noah's birthday. Cinnabar and Maroon were both going to be there as well. It was optional to get them something, but it would be kind of a dick move to have them there and not acknowledge them. Crimson and Scarlet were out the house and going through the legal process on their own, so they did not need to be given presents. Now that the paperwork was in, they would start to celebrate their birthday in the next year. Henry loved Noah. He had taken care of Crimson and Scarlet. It was not his responsibility to get Cinnabar and Maroon anything. He was still going to get them a nice card with 50 dollars each inside of it. Noah was going to get a brand new game console and a couple of games. It was what he had asked him for a couple of months ago. There really was no doubt about it. Maroon and Cinnabar would be able to play on it too. Crimson and Maroon were not working jobs at the moment.
Keeping them in the house for most of the time was very intentional. Henry did not want them getting picked up by the police. For starters, there were truancy laws on the books. It would be dumb to put them in school if they were undocumented. Noah's parents were well known in parent-teacher conferences and school board meetings. It was due to them always showing up and speaking. Henry did not live in the same school district because his apartment was halfway across the city. Now that they were legal adults, they could get a GED. Noah was a really bright child. Crimson was a bit skittish when dealing with new people or aggression. Scarlet was more analytical in certain situations. They were both aspects of Noah's personality, although turned up a little. Noah always felt like there was a segment of people that were out to get him due to his Lock as a male. Henry could acknowledge it as partially valid. Kids did tease him relentlessly. Being a Lock or Key was rare. Being a female Key or male Lock was more rare. Certain governments did not treat them well either. Henry got it all.
