Dusting off her dress, Karyn lifted up the skirt a tad as she hurried to meet up with Jon before walking to school. She found him doing his stretches in his tennis get up about a block away from his house.
"Hey princess! We have a problem..." Jon said switching over to jumping Jack's as his amber colored bob moved around wildly. "Stone's gone."
Karyn was taken aback. "Gone? Jonathan you're impossible... how could you misplace something so valuable? Did anyone take it?"
Jon smiled hearing what passed for anger from his close friend Karyn. She didn't even sound upset. "I figure Zoe or Mom are the ones who could've learned about the stone from grandpa. Mikey had this dumb look on his face when he saw me earlier."
"Zoe is just dreadful, she'd take advantage immediately! Why aren't you more worried?!"
"Between volleyball and softball and tennis and soccer? I think those are a bit more important than an old rock, Kar..."
Jon looked up at his childhood friend, clad in ornate regal garb with her long blonde hair elaborately braided. She was just too serious.
