Jon woke up feeling a sense of unease that carried over from his dream. It wasn't helped by the fact that he still didn't feel right in his own bedroom, like something had changed on him that he wasn't aware of. Like someone had made a wish on the stone that he hadn't heard.

Jon shook his head and made his way to his closet. He'd just have to keep his eyes on a swivel for anything that stood out as strange. Was there anything strange about his clothes? No, they looked the same as they always did. But for a moment, Jon had a feeling in his head that told him he shouldn't be wearing them. He saw his corduroy skirt, and it didn't look right. He saw his My Little Pony T-shirt, which matched the My Little Pony poster on his wall, and he got the sense that he'd get beaten up if he wore that to school.

But a few blocks away, Gina Gibson was looking through her own closet, and found that it fit her perfectly. Everything in it was exactly what she wanted to wear. And while corduroy skirts felt a little too young for her, and she'd certainly outgrown My Little Pony, the sense of kinship that she had with the blouses and swing skirts and leggings and dresses that passed under her gaze was powerful.

And while she wasn't sure where the thought had come from, she mused to herself that is she was younger, if she was back in middle school, a corduroy skirt and a My Little Pony T-shirt would be exactly what she'd want to wear.

The thought ricocheted out of Gina's head and down the ley-line that connected her to Jon, and the thought of anything strange left the boy's head entirely. Of course he'd wear exactly what he was looking at: corduroy was cute and comfy, and he loved My Little Pony. All of a sudden, Jon couldn't see any problem with wearing that particular outfit. So he got dressed, and got ready for his day, and he made his way to school.
