It was something that felt really good. I definitely would not mind coming back to Bonnie again "You rut really good. For a human at least." she said. I nodded my head. "I really liked this. I also like you. Can we be a pair?" I asked. She looked skeptically at me. "You want to be mates? Why don't you go find a human mate? You are a strong warrior." she questioned. I really had nothing to lose here. I told her about the things that my wife and I were going through. She barked in laughter. "You want male pups for your tribe, huh?" she said. That was a great way to summarize it. "You want to breed me, don't you?" she said pointedly. I nodded again. "I want pretty gems. You have all the sparkly gems." she said. It was well known that I had the bars of gold and the gems. The free folk had a fascination with them. They were beautiful. None of them would steal. The townsfolk living with me were more likely to try something like that. Neither group would be successful. I had several deadly traps that would kill a thief. Looking at her, I smiled. "I can give you gems if you have all of my pups."
She was willing to take that deal. I was pleased. The problem was that Bonnie was a beastkin. She was only really fertile when she was in heat. That was just during the spring. That would not be for another 5 months or so. The centaurs were also able to go into heat during the spring. "Okay Bonnie. We are a pair from now on. I'll be over every so often. We can rut around all we want." She nodded her head. "I want my gems now though." she said. It was a great time. She had a really good head on her shoulders too. I told her I would have one for her if she met me at the sauna the next day. "If you want to come see me, you can meet me in the town. Do not ask anyone about me. Just walk around and find me. I'll likely be walking around town on a normal day." I said as I began to get dressed. Bonnie licked my face. It tickled. Laughing, I said "Thanks for being with me. Keep this a secret from your friends in the village too." She looked at me and smiled. "I don't think any of the villagers would believe me if we told them." she remarked. I began walking to the town. I was all on my own.
The dalliance here was something that I had a responsibility to keep on the down low. It would dishonor my wife and drag us into a ton of gossip. That meant having my relationship with Bonnie secret. Like I had promised her, I passed a gem to Bonnie when she was passing the sauna. It was a ruby. Leaning into her ear, I said "I keep all of my promises. I expect you to do the same here. No other mates for you from now on." She nodded her head and walked off. She was going to wander around town until someone got tired of her and made her go back. That was also really good for me. I had a decent alibi built into our social relationship between our settlements. If I wanted to see her at her home for sex, I could just pretend I was called to shoo her away from us. The free folk was an hour's walk away. And it was in this way that we spent our time. When spring came, so did new centaur children. It was nice that they were healthy. So did Bonnie's heat and the caravan of traders sent by the Whites. It was great to trade lumber and antlers with them for other goods. My gems too.
